Sauers, Inc. at Eastern Center For Arts & Technology Open House

Sauers, Inc. recently attended the annual Open House Event at Eastern Center for Arts & Technology this past Sunday, February 28th. The Open House is an opportunity for parents and students to experience what differant courses have to offer before they enroll for the following year.

Co-owners Joe & Mike Sauers have graduated from the 2 1/2 year Horticulture Course when in high school & understand the importance of giving young students the opportunity of learning a trade and preparing them for a long term career after graduation. This course touches on landscape design, installation, & maintenance techniques as well as hardscape construction- walls, walks, & patios. Students also recieve the hands on experience of operating commercial mowers, tractors, skid steers, & other equipment to complete projects around the campus grounds. Class time consists of learning plant ID,
insect & disease management, fertilization techniques, & much more.

Joe Sauers is also on the committee to help set the course curriculum to keep the course up to date with industry standards and prepare students for a career in the green industry. Mike Sauers volunteers for Career Expo, Open House, & other events to help when he can. Being involved with Eastern Center is just another way that Sauers, Inc. strives to give back to the community!

"Paralyzing" Snow on the Way

With a blizzard in the forecast, it's only a matter of hours now until the Sauers, Inc crews are out in full force fighting the threatening winds and 1-2" per hour snowfall that lies ahead. Sauers, Inc expects to have 40-50 employees working tonight including heavy equipment, plow trucks, and labor. An event like this is going to be tough to keep up with, but the experienced and trained crews at Sauers, Inc are fully prepared and know how to handle this calibur of storm. We are looking into this storm confident that although it will probably end up being a 24-36 hour event for the crews, everything will be cleared in a safe and efficient manner. Be safe tonight everyone, and don't go out unless you absolutely need to.

Windy Winter Weather Alert!

This past Monday, January 25th, we experienced some wicked weather conditions associated with the Winter Season. Although the wind gusts were not extreme, it doesn't take much for a tree that's already in poor structural condition to reach it's breaking point. Our Arborists offer FREE Tree Care Evaluations to help mitigate the risk of hazardous trees on your property that you may not be aware of. If you haven't had a Certified Arborist evaluate your trees in the past 1-2 seasons, call us today and take advantage of this offer. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

Sauers, Inc gears up for the 2010 Relay for Life

Last week, I attended the 2010 Relay for Life kickoff meeting in preparation and celebration of our commitment to the American Cancer Society this year.

As both caregivers and survivors of Cancer at Sauers, Inc, the Relay for Life held by the American Cancer Society is very close to all of our hearts.

This year, we will be donating a minimum of $1 for every invoice we bill out. Additionally, when a job is invoiced, we give $10 off the invoice for any feedback forms filled out and returned. With these forms, there is an option to donate that $10 back to our Relay for Life team. So far, we have raised nearly $150 in the first two weeks of January. We are very excited for what the rest of the year will bring in for those in need.
I, as the team captain, am very excited about our company's promise to give back to the community and I am looking forward to attenting the event in June at the Hatboro Horsham High School with my family, friends, and co-workers. I will be posting updates on our team as well as fundraising efforts every 2-3 weeks.

If you or someone you know would like to become involved, donate, or volunteer with the American Cancer Society, please feel free to contact me anytime.

Everyday in Pennsylvania, 191 people will be told, "You have cancer." Let's rally some support for these patients and help them find answers to their questions, learn about treatment options, and get the assistance they need.

Spread the word. The more you can help us raise money for this cause, the more people in our community will receive the help they need!
